Touring tourists

Lloyd, Judy and Sarah spent the day, and early evening touring London on an open top double decker , hop on hop off bus. Saw all kinds of sights and sounds and even had a river tour on the River Thames. Hard to describe it in words. Some of the things we heard about and saw included the shop where Lady Diana got hair done, the hotel where she had her "hen party", big ben, the tower bridge, actually opening, hotel Jack Nicholson stays at when he's in town, Westminster Abbey, the public gallows, the apartment/house where the Beatles lived in the 60's, and on and on. We are slowly learning how to navigate on foot here; you walk or run on the left side, stand on the right side of a sidewalk. Strict rules; and enforced. Lloyd got a sun tan/burn already...13 degree sun. Judy was estatic to see Harrod's. Highlight of her shopping spree there were...purchasing a gift for Griffin from the pet botique (he got the first gift), seeing a 1 million pound ($2,300,000) necklace for sale, and using the Harrod's bathroom, where they do just about verything for you. Not unisex. Todays picture is from the fish display at Harrod's, where we could have purchased a great cooked lobster for £34.95 per kilo. Thats over $40.00 per pound. Sunday were off to do more touring, will visit the museum of history and to Sarah's church in the evening. Also, as promised, a photo from the Giraffe where we ate last night. Our First Day

Lloyd & Judy arrived in London at 6:00am (PEI) and 10:00am (London) Friday; 1.5 hours behind schedule, which is not too bad. Sarah was waiting to meet us at Heathrow and after 1.5 hours on the tube, and bus (double decker) we arrived at Sarahs flat. First impression is...an old city, old buildings, millions and millions of people. We wanted to see the typical Brit...however we're now not sure that there is a typical Brit...London is a melting pot of all society. We will keep looking though! The remainder of the day was spent chilling out, a couple of hours sleep and then it was out and at 'em for dinner. We ate at The Giraffe with 15 Islanders and Maritimers who are teaching in London. Great food and drinks. Pictures of will follow. So far, we have discovered that it rains all the time in London, cars are all on the wrong side of the road and they have unisex public washrooms. We are so happy to see Sarah, who was equally as happy to see us. We met Sarah's flat mate Tracy, who is from New Brunswick. She is a great soul, keeping Sarah on the right track. Sarah and Tracy are enjoying the sweedish berries from Bulk barn, and cookies from Grammy Adams in O'Leary. Not sure what Saturday will bring; our activities will depend on how well we adjust to the time change and jet lag.

Packing our bags

Lloyd and Judy are packing their bags for the big trip. Four suitcases and a couple of carryons...mostly with goodies and treats for Sarah. We expect to report on our endeavours a couple of times each week. You can expect our first report on Saturday March 31st.
